Nakheel has extended the deadline for contractors to submit bids to build the Night Souk and Boardwalk at its Deira Island development in Dubai.

The original tender deadline was 7 December 2014  but this has been pushed back by the master developer to midday on 1 March 2015.

Deira Islands is about 68 hectares large, populated with groundfloor (GF) retail and G+1 food and beverage structures with an estimated 160,000 m2 built-up area.

Comprising of a waterfront promenade and Night Souk district and measuring approximately 1.9 km, the development is divided into four villages. It is planned to be constructed with a prefabricated system, allowing light and easy construction, development flexibility and optimised future tenant fit-out.

The Souk will be a main attraction of the island, providing food and beverage outlets at the front, utilising the back portion for various retailers. The Souk and Boardwalk will provide Deira Islands with a unique retail destination for residents and tourists.
